Despite the challenges, whether it's scorching heat or unexpected rain, our resilient land continues to yield bountiful harvests. The wheat thrives even if the fields change; the soil remains our enduring home.

In the present reality, when farmers are still deprived of the opportunity to work the land and care for their field crops, we at Foody, together with Be'eri Print and in collaboration with 'Leket Israel', decided to highlight the marvels of Israeli agriculture. This book is dedicated to all those who cherish the land.

This recipe book is a heartfelt tribute to the Western Negev farmers and the fertile land they lovingly tend. Featuring 18 exquisite recipes that highlight the best of Israel's cuisine for Shavuot, this collection pays homage to the rich agriculture and abundant produce of the region. Each dish reflects a deep respect for the land and the bounty it provides.

The book begins with the words of Avida Bachar, a farmer from Kibbutz Be'eri who tragically lost his entire family on the Black Sabbath of October 7th. Despite his immense loss, Bachar returned to work the fields. Bachar's words resonate with command, strength, bravery, and serve as a poignant reminder: the wheat grows again.

" We're back home. When a farmer like me says "home," he's not referring to the four walls of a house that was burned down; he means the land—the fertile soil that starts right after the turn at the Saad junction. Despite everything, I have returned. I know we have no other choice".
